Garden Tractors

With a four stroke engine at the front, usually between 12hp and 24hp, and a cutter deck mounted undeaneath, Garden Tractors are hugely versatile and hence very popular. With the ability to cut and collect, mulch, or side discharge, plus tow a variety of attachments such as trailers, spreaders, and aerators, Garden Tractors are useful in any large garden.

Riders

Highly manoeuvrable, Riders have the cutter deck mounted in front of the machine, for excellent visibility, plus the ability to mow under fences, hedges and benches. The body of the machine articulates in the middle for an extremely small turning circle, perfect for tight areas, and cutting around trees, obstacles and posts. Riders cannot collect grass clippings, instead mulching or discharging the grass.

Ride-Ons

Ride-Ons are smaller machines, where the small engine, usually 6hp-12hp, sits beneath the drivers seat. With a small single bladed cutter deck, these machines are nimble enough to fit through narrow gateways, making them ideal in areas where access is difficult. Due to their low power and smaller wheels, ride-ons are best suited to flat lawns, without any potholes or rough areas.

Choosing a Brushcutter

When choosing a brushcutter there are several things to consider: curved shaft trimmers are ideal for trimming a lawn, but straight shaft models offer higher performance with the choice of a metal blade for heavier clearing work. Log Splitters

Splitting wood by hand is a tough job, especially as winter closes in. With our range of powerful, portable wood splitters all that effort is reduced down to the press of a button! 

AL-KO's horizontal splitters use up to 5 tonnes of force to split logs up to 52cm in length into perfect firewood, and can be easily moved due to their compact size and transport wheels. We also carry AL-KO vertical splitters, which offer a splitting force up to 6 tonnes, and can accommodate logs up to a metre in length. Designed for heavy duty homeowner use, all models are electrically powered, so all you have to do is plug them in.

Scarifiers & Aerators

A build up of moss and thatch can prevent essential light, water and nutrients from reaching the roots of your lawn. We offer a wide range of electric and petrol powered scarifiers, aerators and combi-units, you can remove this layer, giving you a greener, healthier lawn. 

Our range of scarifiers electric or petrol from AL-KO, John Deere, Bosch and more, can provide lawn care from the smallest garden to the biggest. With either steel spring type tines to rake out thatched grass, or solid blades to slit the lawns surface for more intensive treatment, scarifying and aerating is usually carried out once in spring and once in autumn to promote healthy root growth throughout summer and prevent moss build up in winter. 

Aeration is also beneficial if your lawn is poorly drained. Holes can be pierced into the lawn, allowing water to drain off. This technique is also recommended prior to re-seeding to provide better conditions for seeds to germinate.

Protective Equipment

We carry a wide range of Personal Protective Equipment suitable for use with every type of garden machinery. We recommend using goggles, gloves, and ear protectors with most machinery, and we also stock a variety of visors and helmets for more demanding work. 

We offer chainsaw clothing from Husqvarna and Oregon, either in stock or available to special order. When using a chainsaw you can never be too careful, and we offer chainsaw boots, trouser, jackets, gloves and more. We also stock a choice of specially designed brushcutter clothing.

Smart Splitter

Get a base log, using the 20mm Drill bit supplied, drill a hole of at least 12cm deep and 8cm from the edge of your base log Place the guide rod securely into the hole, then place over the guide rod the 1 metal washer, the rubber washer and then the other metal washer. Tighten the bolt so that the guide rod is tight. Lift the handle of the Smart splitters cutting wedge and place your log into position under the cutting wedge. Lift the striking weight with both hands and drop it slightly onto the splitting wedge so that the wedge is slightly embedded into the log. Lift the striking weight to the top of the striking rod. With both hands, throw the striking weight down towards the log, making sure you let go of the striking weight before it hits the log. Repeat this until the log has split. If you wish to cut kindling then place your wood / split logs under the splinting edge and again with both hands firmly on the striking weight thrown down the weight, ensuring you have let go of the weight before it hits the wedge.
